From: Analysis of the function of E. coli 23S rRNA helix-loop 69 by mutagenesis
Distribution of plasmid encoded 23S rRNA in ribosomal fractions. Mutant plasmids were expressed in the strain XL1-Blue and ribosomes were fractionated by sucrose gradient centrifugation. The percentage of plasmid-encoded 23S rRNA in the ribosomal fractions was determined by RNA sequencing. The gradient profile and the percentages of the plasmid-encoded 23S rRNA in the corresponding gradient fractions is shown for each mutant. The arrow shows the direction of sedimentation.
