Similar peptides are produced via independent mechanisms in hRPB11b, hPMS2L4 and hPMS2L13 transcripts. The mRNAs are depicted by boxes that represent the exons. The black and grey areas represent the sequences that are specific to hRPB11b and hPMS2L, respectively. The strongly homologous sequences are represented by the open boxes. The sequence of exon 4 from hRPB11bα and bβ are shown together with the conserved 5' part of exon g from hPMS2L4 and the complete hPMS2L13 exon g with their translated peptides. Only the divergent residues are indicated in hPMS2L, hRPB11b being taken as a reference.
