Alignments of S. meridionalis Stra8 with those of other species. ClustalX and GeneDoc were used to make this figure. The overall similarity among the isolated Stra8 is very low, averagely less than 30%. The three relatively conserved motifs were depicted as Box 1–3. The sources of the sequences are described in the Materials and Methods section.
