Comparison the results of real-time RT-PCRs investigating the mRNA expression of α-SMA or ß-actin using our or literary primer pairs. Depending on the applied primer pairs, the increase in mRNA expression of α-SMA varied from 3.1- to 6.2-fold in the kidneys of mice underwent UUO compared to the corresponding controls (a). While using our primer pair there was no difference in the mRNA expression of ß-actin, using literary primer pairs increased ß-actin mRNA expression was detected in the kidney of mice underwent UUO compared to the corresponding controls (b). Results were determined by comparison with RN18S and presented as mean + SD. *p < 0.05 UUO vs. control
