Binding of KLF15 site by retinal proteins in EMSA. All lanes contain equal amounts of total retinal extract from wild-type adult mouse retina. Lanes 1, 3, 4 and 5, 32P-labeled bRho29 oligo; lane 2, 32P-labeled Δ10 oligo containing mutated KLF15 binding site; cold Δ10 oligo as competitor was added to lane 4, at 20-fold excess and lane 5, at 200-fold excess. Open arrowheads, bands shifted with both wild-type and mutant oligos; solid arrowheads, bands observed only with wild-type oligos; large and small arrows respectively indicate major and minor bands not competed by addition of excess mutant oligo. Discontinuities in the image resulted from removal of irrelevant lanes.
