Activation of rtMT-A deletion constructs following exposure to PQ and PMA. RTH-149 cells were transfected with 0.5 μg of either the NFIL6-pGL3 or the AP1-pGL3 (APtot) vectors and 0.3 μg of pRL-CMV vector (Renilla Luciferase control reporter vector). Following transfection cells were exposed to 10 μM PQ (A) or to 162 nM PMA (B). The activities are given as fold induction. All activities were normalized to the expression level of the pGL3-basic vector. Luciferase activities were analyzed 24 hours post transfection. Results are presented as mean ± SE (n = 4). Statistically significant differences from control levels are indicated by **(p < 0.01).
